Tape the silk to an open framework and dope. Once dry cut into strips at 45 degrees to the weave the same width as the stator (the angled cut helps it go round corners when wet). Rectangles 21mm long is a good length to get round each tooth with a little to spare. Paint each tooth with dope and then a little more dope on the silk as it is glued to the teeth. Neat thinners can be used to make adjustments once the dope has dried. My silk is 0.05mm thick. With dope 0.07mm. Each tooth becomes about 2.2mm (some 2.25mm) when doped into place (and as a result of slight lamination alignment problems).
